Does Motiontography work with LGBTQ+ clients?

Absolutely! Motiontography proudly welcomes and celebrates clients of all identities, orientations, and expressions. We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and affirming space for everyone in the LGBTQ+ community. Our focus is on capturing authentic connections and individual beauty, regardless of who you love or how you identify. We are honored to document your story.

Can I bring a friend or support team to my photo session?

Yes, your support system is welcome! Please let us know beforehand so we can ensure adequate space in the studio.

Booking & Payment

How can I book a session?

Book easily online via our Booking page, call 757-759-8454, or use our Contact Page form.

Can I see your portfolio before booking?

Absolutely! Use the main menu to navigate to specific galleries (Maternity, Boudoir, Wedding, etc.). A general portfolio overview is also available if you browse different sections.

Does the deposit go toward the session price?

Yes, the $100 deposit secures your date and is applied to your final balance, which is due on the shoot day.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Cash, Apple Pay, and major credit/debit cards.

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposits are non-refundable if cancelled less than 48 hours before the session. Cancellations made 3+ days prior may be refunded or rescheduled (within 30 days).

What if I need to reschedule?

Please contact us ASAP. Rescheduling is permitted if done more than 3 days before your original appointment, and the new session must occur within 30 days of the original date.

Session Prep & Details

Do you provide makeup artists or include hair/makeup?

Hair and makeup services are not included. You’re welcome to bring your own artist. Prep/touchup time is part of your scheduled session duration, so we recommend arriving camera-ready to maximize shooting time.

Are props available at your studio?

Yes, we have various props and furniture available. Browse our portfolio or the Studio page for ideas. Feel free to bring your own props too!

How many outfits can I bring?

The number depends on your selected package. Please refer to the package details on our Booking Page.

How long are sessions & can I extend time?

Durations (1-3+ hrs) vary by package. While designed with buffer time, sessions end promptly. Extra time ($50/hr) is *only* possible if the schedule permits and isn't guaranteed due to other bookings. Please book adequate time initially.

Do you shoot on location?

Yes, primarily within Hampton Roads (Norfolk, VA Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News). Travel fees may apply outside this area. See our On Location information or package on the booking page.

Images & Delivery

How do I select images for editing?

After your session (typically within 24 hours), you will receive a link to a private online proofing gallery. This gallery showcases the best images from our time together (images for Basic & Standard packages will be watermarked). Simply browse the gallery and note the unique filename displayed beneath each photo. Once you've chosen your favorites according to your package, email the list of filenames to me. I'll then begin the professional retouching process on your selected images.

What's the turnaround time for photos/videos?

Unedited proofs (if applicable) are typically delivered within 24 hours. Final edited photos are usually delivered within 5-7 days *after* you make your selections. Composites take longer. Videos typically take up to 2 weeks.

Can I request more edits later?

Yes, images are kept securely for one year. You can order additional Standard ($20/image) or Advanced ($30/image) edits within that time.

What are raw/unedited images?

These are the unprocessed digital files directly from the camera, before any color/exposure correction or retouching. Some packages include watermarked versions (Basic/Standard), while others include non-watermarked unedited files (check package details).

What are the image usage rights?

Motiontography retains copyright. Clients receive a personal usage license for printing and sharing purchased digital images non-commercially. Commercial use requires a separate agreement.

Can I post my images on social media?

Yes, please do! We appreciate tagging Motiontography when you share.

Do you offer prints or albums?

Yes! While prints are not included in the session fee, you'll have the option to order high-quality professional prints, albums, wall art, and other products directly through your online gallery via our trusted third-party lab partner. You also receive personal usage rights for your purchased digital files if you prefer to print elsewhere.

Yes! Motiontography offers videography including cinematic wedding films, maternity videos, music videos, commercials, YouTube content, event coverage, and more.
